Overworked? Overstressed? Have anxious thoughts or a mind that just won’t quit? You’ve come to the right place. At Mountain Trek, we look at your health holistically and believe that you must be both physically ANY mentally fit to be healthy. Afterall, they compound upon one another, and when you practice both, in balance, you unlock a level of health and wellness that you never even knew existed before.
You only get one life. You do not need to live it chronically stressed, worrying about the next “fire” on your to-do list, spinning a million different scenarios in your head (all with unfortunate outcomes), or talking negatively to yourself (you don’t talk negatively about your best friends, why say such mean things to yourself?!).
Our award-winning approach to health values mental health as much as physical. Here’s what we practice to help you establish a calm, confident mind:
Mindfulness
The practice of witnessing our thoughts, feelings, and sensations is immensely powerful for our mental health. Being able to interrupt negative self-talk, anxious thoughts, and a spinning mind on command gives us the ultimate freedom—a still, open mind.
Whether you are just getting started with meditation or it’s squarely rooted in your routine, you will appreciate our approach to mindfulness. We will practice mindfulness both indirectly, such as being aware of our foot placement on the trail, and directly, with forest bathing, walking meditations, and breathing exercises after yoga.
Nature Immersion
Sometimes the best way to quiet your mind is to stand next to a stream rushing so fiercely and loud you can’t hear yourself think. On the other end of the spectrum, you will also find yourself in lush forests that are so quiet you can hear the leaves fall. Warm sun on your face, deep inhales of clean mountain air, and the snapping of twigs under your feet are all proven to reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels and anxious thoughts.
State-of-the-art Spa
It’s hard to argue against the calming effects of sitting in the steam room, soaking in a jacuzzi, or receiving a long massage. Now, enjoy all of this after working your body hard and eating clean food and you have a combination that melts stress away.
Digital Detox
This is your week to unplug from work, emails, social media, and be truly present with yourself. Your chance to turn off the mind, and turn on your body. We have limited wifi and request all guests to put their phones on airplane mode while in common areas or on the trails.
