Where to Stay
Hotel Domestique
The absolute best place to stay for hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains is Hotel Domestique. Tucked in the foothills, Hotel Domestique is a European-style boutique chateau built by George Hincapie, a professional road cyclist famous for being Lance Armstrong’s right hand man, or “Domestique”. Rustic architecture and luxury blend to transport guests far beyond the routine of ordinary life, and with only thirteen rooms, this intimate setting will make your stay one to remember. Built originally to serve road cyclists, this chateau is a hiker’s paradise, boasting a saltwater pool, yoga classes, in-room massages, and a newly built infrared sauna and hot tub to soothe sore feet after a long day hiking. Domestique also has a small fleet of BMW’s that guests can use at their leisure—a fabulous way to get to and from local trailheads.
