Please read over the following COVID protocols and voice any concerns as soon as possible.
We retain the right to update these protocols as needed and refuse service to anyone not following the protocols.
Please note: the same protocols will be followed for guests with the flu, where applicable.
2023 Season Protocols
Pre-Retreat
If a guest tests positive within three (3) days prior to arrival, their trip will be postponed without penalty with a doctor’s note.
During The Retreat
The lodge will be sanitized daily.
Masks are optional for guests.
Symptom & Positive Case Response
If a guest or staff member exhibits COVID symptoms, they will be asked to take a rapid test immediately. If the test returns positive, that guest will need to isolate in their room and be tested again daily for the remainder of their retreat.
All other guests and staff will be tested immediately.
If any other guest or staff tests positive, daily testing will occur until the end of the week to isolate the spread of the virus.
Positive guests have two options:
A) Continue to stay at the lodge in isolation. All meals will be provided and left at their door, but they are not permitted to leave their room or participate in any events. No refund or credits will be provided.
B) Adjust travel arrangements and depart program early. A credit will be provided for the balance of their stay.
Regardless of their choice, positive guests will be required to leave the lodge Friday morning to provide 24 hours for their room to air out and then be sanitized to prevent transmission to the incoming group. Transport into Nelson will be provided and lodging Friday night will be reimbursed. No other refunds or credits will be given.
Mountain Trek Shuttle
Our Saturday shuttle service is only available to guests who test negative. If while at the retreat you test positive and are departing via Spokane (GEG), we recommend adjusting your flight to depart from Castlegar (YCG) as there is no reasonable shuttle service between Nelson and Spokane other than our Saturday shuttle. If a positive guest wishes, they can wait until they are testing negative, and then take our next shuttle to Spokane (GEG).
Our Commitment To Preserving Health
Mountain Trek is a world-renowned health retreat and we take everyone’s physical, mental, and emotional health very seriously. We will continue to monitor the COVID situation daily, and reserve the right to cancel the program if we deem that guest and staff safety is at risk.
